Inference questions ask you to find the inferences and assumptions made in the passage. The main goal of the entire test is to assess your ability to go beyond what is on the page. It’s not unusual to face two or more inference questions in each passage.

Macro Questions deal with the entire passage. You’ll typically get one or two of these questions with every passage.

Since the LSAT Reading Comprehension section is like an open-book test, you don't need to read each passage in detail like you would for memorization. Instead, you're just trying to come up with a road map to refer to later when you tackle the questions.

Reading Comprehension tests your ability to quickly read long, dense and boring passages and understand the main points the author is making in each. Because you’ve spent so many years in school examining and memorizing arcane details, it’s easy to waste time carefully reading every word in a reading comprehension passage. Putting in that kind of effort may even feel like you’re reading actively, when in fact, active reading requires you to do just the opposite.

The LSAT test is packed with densely worded arguments and passages. Half of the challenge of the LSAT test is to analyze and draw out hidden assumptions and inferences made in the test; however, the other half is just being able to get a basic understanding of the passages. This is particularly true in Reading Comprehension, a section that rewards you with gimme points just for paying attention.
